We can’t talk enough about the insane increase in prices. Products and services are at least double their original prices that we were barely covering. The salaries are just as miserable as 2015, the Egyptian pound seems to be floating up in the sky and it is just total chaos.

Yet amidst all the skyrocket increase in prices, there are 12 specific things that you cannot absolutely afford right now. I don’t care if you’re richer than Hugh Hefner, you just can’t afford them!

    Cars

We won’t even mention our favorite cars, because it is only normal that their prices would become insane at this point. We only showed you the unexpected rises that are way above the average citizen’s income.

    Toyota, Corolla

Skyrocketed from  EGP 265,000 to  EGP 385,000.

    Subaru, XV

    Carscoops
    Carscoops

Jumped from EGP 220,000 to EGP 499,000.

    Seat, Toledo

The cute car that used to cost EGP 207,000 now jumped to EGP 333,000.

    Education

The international schools and university drama is no where even close to an end. The new fees are ridiculous. It doesn’t even make sense. We like to add that the fees mentioned next do not include registration fees.

    American International School

This year’s fees are USD 10,000 for kindergarten, and there is an expected increase to be announced soon.

    Cairo American College

The top school in Cairo expects you to pay USD 23,300 for kindergarten and that is only this year. Ugh!!

    Malvern College Egypt

This year new students paid GBP 9,500 that jumps to GBP 11,000 at Grade 1. Let me just remind you, that these fees were before the Egyptian pound floatation.

    Beauty and hygiene products

Because wanting to be very hygienic now could cost you a liver.

    AXE deodorant

Men used to turn heads around with only EGP 25, now it’s for EGP 44.

    Clear shampoo

The once affordable shampoo that cost us EGP 25 is now for EGP 50.

    Food and beverage

    Brb while we starve ourselves!

The super crunchy sandwich that used to satisfy us for EGP 20 now is double the price at EGP 40.

    Mori Sushi

Say your goodbyes to the foodgasmic spicy lemon roll which will now cost you EGP 98, not to mention the rest of your order.

    Crave

    omarsfood

Our favorite dish and Crave’s specialty, the salmon teriyaki, is now for EGP 123.

and finally you will definitely think twice before buying this Samsung 50 Inch Smart LED TV for EGP  11,5oo

WE SAID THIS: This list has the most random items we could think of, but rest assured every product in the country is currently double the price.
