“Hana3mel eh this weekend?” is a typical question we all ask our friends on a daily basis, and it’s usually answered with the exact same answer. Yet last week, my friend and I came up with this awesome idea for us to go to Ras Sudr. It was honestly one of the best ideas ever suggested. It was just where we needed to go to take a mini-vacay from the exhausting city.

So if you’re sick of answering the typical question of “hana3mel eh this weekend?” with the same reply every single time, you should do what I did and answer it differently for once. Be adventurous and go to Ras Sudr. Not sold yet? Well, here are the reasons…

    It’s ONLY 2 hours away

    1

Ras Sudr is located along the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea coast. It’s only a two-hour drive from Cairo, which makes it convenient for you to go and come back in the same weekend.

    The views are Instagrammable

    2

There’s nothing more perfect to take your mind off of a stressful week in the city. The views in Ras Sudr are breathtaking. The unblemished combination of the mountains, the sunset and the different blue shades of the red sea is just so relaxing and serene. And even at night, the clear sky, the silvery moon and the shining stars can do the seamless job of calming you.

Dogs, dogs, dogs and more dogs

    dog+beach

For a change, pets are allowed in most of the hotels in Ras Sudr. Which means that even if you don’t bring your own dog along, there’s going to be plenty of other cute dogs you can play with.

    Kite-freaking-surfing

    home-kitesurfing-2

Over the years, Ras Sudr has managed to build itself a reputation for being every kite-surfers’ most wanted destination. The wind there tends to be strong and the water is always super flat. On top of all of that, the kite-surfing facilities are plenty and they’re gnarly.

    Fun beach activities

    5

The activities in Ras Sudr are not limited to kite-surfing. There is also windsurfing, wake-boarding, paddle boarding, kayaking, yoga and many more beach activities. So whatever your interests are you’re always going to find something that pleasures you.

    Bonfires!

    6

It doesn’t mater where you go in Ras Sudr, you will always find a cozy bonfire. With a few good friends, relaxing music and some funny stories to share, all you would be missing is some delicious s’mores.

    Swimming with dolphins

    7

This is one of the blessings of the Red Sea.  The Red Sea is filled with a variety of different dolphins. So if you’re lucky enough you might get the opportunity to swim with them. And trust me, there’s nothing more enjoyable than playing with wild dolphins.

    Beach parties

    8

Most of the resorts in Ras Sudr throw legendary parties every once in a while. Breaking from the traditional urban parties, partying on the beach is much more enthusiastic. From Halloween, to New Years, you can always guarantee yourself an unforgettable experience.
